June 2026 Update

To my loyal & valued customers,

Happy Dad’s Day to all that have the privilege and honor to share. Cook up something special on the grill and have a cold one!

Stocking is in full swing and the Nissitissit & Squannacook Rivers are producing nice rainbows, brookies and browns. Get out and enjoy the nice weather and beautiful surroundings that trout fishing is a part of. Dries are starting to pop. Caddis, Mayflies, Stoneflies and Midges are all over both rivers. Hit it right and you can have a memorable day on the water. Recent rains have kept the rivers cool. Mother Nature’s temps have also helped as well. Now is the time we have been waiting for. Reports of Vermont special regulation rivers have been stellar. Call for details on where to go and what flies to bring along. The Farmington and Deerfield Rivers are on fire. Lots of beautiful brown trout have been netted. At the end of June or by July 1st, the Swift will get a fresh stocking of nice rainbows. Be ready as this marks a great time to be prepared for the summer place to go and have a stellar day.

The shop has just received a new stocking of nets, fly lines, leaders, tippet and flies. Come on in and stock up to be ready to hit it head on! Lots of new rods to see as well.

Pat Perkins — In addition to building a superb bamboo rod is now doing restorations on all types of bamboo rods. If you have a bamboo rod and it is in need of repair, please contact the shop for details.

All future classes have been suspended due to my recent surgeries and lack of instructors to fill the positions. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards & See you on the water,

Charlie Shadan
