To my loyal & valued customers,
Merry Christmas and Happy Festive Holidays to you and your families.
If Santa asks what you want for Christmas, please reply — RAIN. It’s the best gift we could receive to augment our planet. Someone I’m sure once said “Fish need water”. Ask and maybe we will receive.
The little rain we did receive bumped up the area rivers a bit. I have been getting reports of people catching fish at Peter Bertozzi on the Squannacook and in the fly rod section of the Nissitissit. Catch a nice day and wet a line for a couple of hours. It will bring back memories!!
The Swift River continues to produce some nice fish up and down the river. Go get ’em before the Eagles and Osprey make sushi for themselves and their offsprings. Worth the trip and not a bad drive.
The wader sale at the shop continues through December. All waders are 20% off and an extra 2% is available if your purchase is in cash.
Purchase a pair of Korkers wading boots with the waders and receive an extra 5% off the Korkers. I have all sizes and styles in stock. Upgrade your gear, feel better for doing so and help your local fly shop continue to strive to provide everyone with knowledgeable, helpful and creative ways to enjoy your sport of fly fishing.
Need a Christmas gift for your friend, spouse, child, business associate — why not consider a gift certificate for them from the Evening Sun Fly Shop — We have gift certificates up to $100,000. How many would you like?
Rods, reels and kits are on sale all month. Come on in and see the lineup of choices. You will not be disappointed.
Pat Perkins — In addition to building a superb bamboo rod is now doing restorations on all types of bamboo rods. If you have a bamboo rod and it is in need of repair, please contact the shop for details.
Regards & Thank you,
Charlie Shadan
If you have excess fly-tying materials — hooks, feather, beads, please bring them into the shop. We are going to begin a monthly donation to Project Healing Waters Fly Tying program. Myself and Jon Sweatman will coordinate getting these materials to the program each month.
Thank you for your kindness to these veterans.
So You Think You Know Everything?
The ESFS will be running every month interesting factoids…
December 7 is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. This year marks the 83rd anniversary. Many organizations have been tracking Pearl Harbor survivors, and reports indicate that as of April 1st, 2024 there are officially no more remaining survivors of Pearl Harbor still alive.
