Alert Shop Closure — The Evening Sun Fly Shop will be closed from Saturday, August 17th thru Thursday, August 22nd. It will reopen on Friday, August 23rd.
I will be on a trip to Montana to give some fish “orthodontics work”. Details to follow!
The area rivers are on hold for now as we need rain badly. In the meantime, the Swift River in Belchertown is loaded with fish. Many large rainbows and browns have been caught. Several of my clients at the shop have reported catching their personal best size over at the Swift.
The Saco area in North Conway still has lots of fish to catch and Pittsburgh NH is also a fine place to visit and hook large amounts of fish if you can put up with the crowds. If you are willing to venture away down river from 1st dam you will find solace from the masses of anglers. There are many large fish to catch and the scenery is worth the visit. Get a buddy and pack your gear and food – Start your engine – head North!

Interested in fly-tying lessons? Beginners and intermediate classes will be offered this fall — Call or sign up now. I will be teaching at least 1 int./advanced class this fall. This will be for students that have been tying for at least 3-5 years regularly. A variety of topics will be covered with emphasis on dries and emergers.
Pat Perkins — In addition to building a superb bamboo rod is now doing restorations on all types of bamboo rods. If you have a bamboo road and it is in need of repair, please contact the shop for details.
