INSTRUCTION
Charlie has been teaching fly tying and fly casting for over 40 years. His willingness to reveal the joys of fly fishing and his ability to easily and simply pass on the techniques of the sport make him one of the most respected and sought after instructors in the region.
The Evening Sun Fly Shop offers formal classes and personal one-on-one instruction at all levels of ability. Classes can be customized for families, corporations, or organizations. Instruction is offered in fly casting (both fresh and saltwater techniques), fly tying (all skill levels – all types of flies), knot management, and fly fishing techniques.

Aquatic Bugology Class - April 7, 2012
Jon Sweatment and Charlie Shadan will be teaching the Aquatic Bugology class again in April 2012. The class in August 2011 sold out quickly and was a HUGE success for all participants. If you are interested in furthering your knowledge of "aquatic fish foods" sign up early at the shop as availability and seating is limited. I will be reminding everyone in the forthcoming newsletters.
FLY TIERS CORNER
Watch local fly tiers create their own special flies. Ask questions, learn new tips, learn how to get started yourself. The Fly Tiers Corner runs through the winter.
January 2012 will start our 6th year of Fly Tyers Corner presentations at the shop. They are free, informative and provide a wonderful respite to everyone on a cold Sunday afternoon in the winter. And also, the Evening Sun Fly Shop provides food at no charge. Looking forward to seeing old and new faces at this years lineup of tyers. Watch for this years schedule to be announced soon.
February 5th - Rich Kovars and John McGranaghan will be tying soft hackle flies.
February 12th - Bob Boadhurst tying wood duck heron flies and selected stoneflies.
February 19th - Ryan Leclerc tying exact match Swift River flies including his famous black fly larva and mad sow. Ryan will also be tying egg patterns using Montana fly materials. This session will include a verbal presentation on site fishing the upper section of the Swift River.
